Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health officials throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was interviewed by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medications by means of the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is vital that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be hazardous.

"These kinds of items being sold, typically online, have actually gone through no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their security.
